Founding and Early Years

Dedicated on March 8, 1913, the church of fourteen members began with a modest building on Fairview Road, complete with a school in the basement. This original structure was located where the Greek Orthodox Church stands today.

In 1948, as the church community grew, the original building was replaced with a larger facility at the same location. During these years, the church became a hub for community engagement—actively collaborating with city council and the Red Cross to distribute welfare clothing, while a separate community services building offered nutrition seminars and cooking classes, among other things.

Educational Initiatives

Education has been a cornerstone of the church's mission. In the early 1900s, the church established a school in Penticton, among other communities. In 1979, recognizing the need for improved facilities, the church purchased a lot off Green Avenue East for the new school, which remained in operation until its closure in 2005.

Relocation and Growth

In 1993, the congregation moved to its current location at 290 Warren Avenue West. This move marked a new chapter, providing updated facilities for worship, fellowship, and outreach ministries.

Centennial Celebration

In 2013, the church celebrated its 100th anniversary, a testament to its longstanding role in the community. The event was a joyful reunion of members, former pastors, and guests, including Dan Jackson, then president of the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists, who once served as a pastor of the church. This milestone honoured a century of worship, service, and spiritual growth in the Penticton community.

Currently, the church serves approximately 200 members and continues to thrive under the leadership of Pastor Petar Djakov.
