Sharing Christ: His Life, His Love, His Truth

Meet Pastor Greg

Hi, my name is Greg Wellman, the Pastor for the Penticton and Cawston/Keremeos Seventh-day Adventist churches. I was born in Loma Linda, California, but grew up in Washington State. I’ve been married to my beautiful wife, Debbie, since 1982, and we have two lovely adult children. Our son, Jeremy, is a pastor with two young sons, and our daughter, Amy, is finishing up her Social Work degree and loves helping people.

I started ministry in a place called Devils Lake, North Dakota, where I helped a little church grow. I was called into full-time ministry to care for a four-church district of Edgley, Ellendale, and Leola in North Dakota and Aberdeen in South Dakota.

We later accepted a call to pastor the Spearfish/Custer district in the Black Hills of South Dakota, then went on to pastor the Rapid City Church, with an adventure up to Fairbanks, Alaska. We eventually returned back to British Columbia, where my wife was born and raised.

After pastoring several districts, we accepted an invitation to pastor the Penticton and Cawston/Keremeos district.  Wow! What an amazing journey this has been.  We have stayed here longer than any other district and we believe God called us and has allowed us to stay in this wonderful place to build wonderful relationships with so many.

I met Christ at 17 years old, reading the well-known classic book, The Desire of Ages.  I never saw anyone who had so much compassion, love, and kindness for people. His life, His goodness, grace, and forgiveness moved my heart. I was amazed at His wisdom on how He treated people, and I was struck by the way He handled difficult situations, and by His love for those who hated Him. I was moved by His courage to walk faithfully in obeying his Father and His willingness to lay down His life for others.  At a young age I knew I wanted to live my live trying to serve this wonderful person who is the Saviour of the world.

I pray that His beauty, His grace, His love, and His truth will grip your heart and mind.

Join us on this journey of growing deeper as we worship our Creator and look forward to His soon return.
